Interview: JOSEPHINE GORDON: is a leading flat jockey. In 2016, Gordon became the Champion Apprentice, becoming only the third female jockey to win that title after Hayley Turner and Amy Ryan, and she became only the second female jockey to ride 100 winners in a calendar year in Britain. In the same year she took her first Heritage Handicap in the Victoria Cup at Ascot for William Haggas, and then followed up when Gordon rode her first group race winner when Koropick won the Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle. She then followed up with a second Group 3 win for Hugo Palmer in the Princess Royal Stakes on Apphia on 29 September. Now a freelance jockey, she talks to Hannah Baycroft about her route into racing and experiences in the industry. Meeting Josephine Gordon.

He would go onto take over the pitch in the mid 1990’s, standing there until the track’s closure in 2008, and then moving onto Harlow in the same year. O’Gorman has also stood at Aintree, Ascot, Brighton, Chelmsford, Cheltenham, Epsom, Fontwell, both Newmarket courses, Plumpton, Sandown, Windsor and will soon be on course when allowed back.
